Run! It's telling me "You're back!" "Let's do this" "Let's Run!"
Earlier this week I posted about my post-baby fitness goals, and one of them is adding running back into my workout schedule. If I wasn't excited enough about it, I've had tons of fun surprises this week that make me even more pumped to get going! As you'll see...it's also been a pretty exciting mail week. Don't you just love to get fun mail?
One of my favorite running buddies (she JUST moved...NO!!!!) sent me this purple flower clip from Fellow Flowers. I had never heard of this company before but they pretty much kick butt! The purple flower represents "No Excuses", which is so perfect for me in this stage of life. The card it came with will be posted on my mirror as a daily reminder.
Then, I got a call from my Dad - he found us a used Bob Ironman stroller just like this one! I can't wait to get my hands on it and get my feet cruising behind it! Makena is going to share lots of miles with me in this one!
My new Brooks Ravenna shoes arrived in the mail this week too! They were my "I just had a baby" present to myself. My husband thinks I'm crazy for picking shoes for this gift, but I think it's fitting! "I just had a baby and now let's run off this belly" gift sounds more like it.
I'm pretty stoked about having a new pair of Ravennas. I bought my first pair 2 years ago and they are the one shoe that I've never had any injuries or problems with. Since my first pair I ventured into the minimalist world where I tried shoe after shoe without finding the perfect fit. I will still do some runs in my Brooks Pure Flows but I can't wait to put some real miles on these kicks.
I also received this product sample in the mail! I've never tried dry shampoo before but this stuff seems pretty legit! This Batiste Dry Shampoo smells delicious and totally freshens up my hair after a sweaty run! I see this coming in handy on those days I don't have a chance to shower after a workout (or waking up...).
Check out Batiste on Facebook or Twitter!
Note: I received this product for free. All opinions are my own.
Finally...I got a text from a friend in town who has a baby just 2 days younger than Makena. We're going to start a "Run Swap" until the kiddos can come along in the joggers. We'll meet at one of our houses and while one of us runs, the other will watch the babies. Then we'll swap. See y'all - no excuses! I can't wait!
I don't know about you, but I think I better head out for a run!
It's great to see you! I'm Alyssa and I blog about all the things I've found "essential" in my life as a fit mama and football coach's wife. You'll find all kinds of fun stuff here like workouts, oily info, football stories and more!
