It's one week til Thanksgiving y'all! I'm soooo counting down the days to PIE!! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because it isn't filled with the materialism of Christmas but is so focused on family and being grateful. That's what really counts anyways...right? Oh and the oh-so-delicious-food. I'm excited to celebrate our first Thanksgiving with Little M...even though she won't be in on the food part yet! I don't get too crazy about being healthy for Thanksgiving. I mean, if you can't splurge on Turkey Day, when can you? I do prioritize my eating though; if not for the calories but for the room in the belly! I usually don't waste much time (calories) on rolls, appetizer type stuff or drinks. I like to save it all for stuffing and pie my friends!
One of my favorite traditions on Thanksgiving is to get sweaty before I get stuffed. There are usually local Turkey Trots going on which are always a great option, but usually my family decides to go for a hike, or some of us go run together in the morning. It's a great way to start any day, but especially one that you know will be filled with eating! This week in my Mommy & Me Bootcamp class we've been doing Thanksgiving themed workouts. Not only has it been really fun...we've burned some major pre-feast calories! Since the holidays are all about giving...I thought I would share the two workouts we did with you all too!!
For this first workout, complete 3 sets of each "course" and then do the Stuffing Slayer. Then move on to the next course. We used a BOSU ball for the Entree round for an extra challenge!
Maybe you're around family this week - this would be a perfect way to spend time together and get fit all at the same time! Both of these workouts were done with little ones in tow too! These workouts require little to no equipment so they are perfect for your holiday travels. Don't have weights? Use some canned goods, jugs of water or a kiddo!
For details on each move in the Turkey Day Tabata Workout see this post from last year!
