Admit it - New Years Eve and you start thinking about all of things you'd like to accomplish/improve/do/stop doing next year. 45% of Americans typically make some sort of New Years Resolutions each year...and over half of them ALWAYS fail at them! Why? How can YOU be the exception?
Here it is - the secret.
ACTUALLY SET GOALS.
No, your "This year I'm going to lose weight!" resolution at midnight after a few glasses of champagne doesn't count.
Sit down, think about what you truly want to accomplish, WRITE IT DOWN, and be sure that it is measurable.
The top 3 resolutions this year are (1) Lose Weight (2) Get Organized (3) Save More/Spend Less Money. I can tell you right now why nobody succeeds at these resolutions. Because HOW will you KNOW if you actually did succeed? The key is setting a SMART GOAL. You can read more about them HERE.
When setting your goals, make is something SPECIFIC that you can focus on throughout the year, and you can reflect on at the end of the year and say "YES I did that".
One of the things I love to do at the end of each year is to sit down with my husband and reflect on the previous year and talk about our plans and dreams for the upcoming year. It's a great way to get on the same page about our family, personal and career goals so that we can support each other in the coming year!
Here are a few of the goals I've set for 2016
