Happy Memorial Day Weekend! I hope you all enjoy your long weekend and take a few minutes to remember those fallen for our country - and say thank you to those who serve!
First...a quick update: this weekend marks the halfway point for Home Field Fitness client Aubrey's 6-week fitness program. You can read about her initial goals in this post...and she just posted an update on her blog about how it's going! I had a phone check-in with her this week and it is so wonderful to hear that she is feeling stronger. I think the most rewarding thing for me to hear is that she is "craving" being active on her off days. That's what it's all about folks...it's not just the workouts you do, it's what you're doing when you're not "working out". I love hearing about her fun Hawaiian active adventures - in the past few weeks they have been hiking, stand-up paddleboarding and walking by the beach! So jealous!
On another note, as a little holiday weekend surprise, I wanted to share with you all about this awesome jewelry line I've discovered, and give one lucky reader a chance to win a piece of their own!
Recently, Momentum - Designs That Move You sent me a set of shoe charms and a wrap bracelet to review for all of you. I'm totally a "word-nerd", if you haven't figured that out about me already, so I loved all of the motivational phrases that they have for their fitness jewelry. If you check out their website you'll find that they have all kinds of bracelets, necklaces, earrings and shoe charms that are fitness-friendly, totally cute and super inspirational! I hardly ever wear jewelry, mostly because I'm always in workout clothes and it's just not practical. Amy and Wendy, the brains behind Momentum are fitness fanatics who wanted to have jewelry you could keep on while you get your sweat on! They are also passionate about getting kids healthy (which I LOVE) and 5% of their profits go to Action for Healthy Kids. Score!
I have been wearing my "Motivate Wrap" quite a bit lately, and always get big compliments on it! What I love is the comfy, stretchy material it's made out of. I hardly ever wear bracelets because I hate the way they clink and slide around. These wraps will fit any size wrist and have been great to wear while training clients, working out or just to be cute around town! I chose the phrase "Live Joyfully" because that is something I really want to be more conscious of doing, and having a reminder on my wrist is the perfect way! If you follow me on Instagram you saw this picture earlier this week - and with it I found the quote "Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognize how good things really are" - Marianne Williamson. How perfect!
I'm also pretty pumped about these shoe charms. I picked the words "Stay Strong". Any of my personal training clients know that's a phrase I use all the time...and it's because I think it's such a good reminder that you ARE STRONG and it's important to remind yourself of that while you are pushing yourself through a long run or tough workout. I haven't been getting mileage out of my running shoes lately, but I know once I start running again post-baby this will be a great mid-run reminder! If only I could get these on my hospital socks for labor and delivery!
Lucky for you - Momentum is offering one of my readers their choice of a pair of shoe charms or a wrap bracelet. You will get to customize your own - colors, words, etc. If you're anything like me - it will be hard to choose just one favorite phrase - they are all awesome!
