It's been a little while since I've done a Blogger's Huddle Link Up - so I thought Spring Ball time would be the perfect time! We've been loving spring ball here in South Texas - last year we were still in Colorado while The Coach was here at this time, so we completely missed spring practices. I have to say they are the best - because it's not so hot like is for our fall practices!
Little M has been having a blast running the track, balancing on everything and swinging on hurdles - and I've been loving having a place for her to get all her wiggles out! The fresh air is amazing and there is nothing like the sound of helmets and pads and whistles and yelling. On practice days, sometimes The Coach doesn't make it home in time for Little's bedtime, so it's nice that she gets a chance to see her Daddy and give him a hug, or at least let him chase her for a second or two.
Another thing we've been going through this spring is the news that some of our good friends on staff will be leaving this summer. This isn't a new concept here in the coaching world but I can't say it gets any easier - especially when it's a family you've truly come to love. It's been sad thinking about the upcoming season without them. I'm sure I"ll post more on that later.
One of my new year's goals was to get to know my husband's players better and so far I have to say I'm failing completely. Unfortunately, with Baby #2 due the week before season begins I'm not sure how well I'm going to do with this at all this year! One of the ways I'm going to try a little harder is to print out his roster and talk with my husband about each player and try to at least associate names and numbers. I'm hoping we can have them over for a BBQ or 2 as well before the season begins. Coach's wives out there - any tips for me?
We've got a few more weeks of spring practices until we wrap up with the annual spring game at the end of the month. It will be fun to have another "game day" weekend before we're a family of 4!!!
